Hunger free India-"Let's eradicate Hunger"

An 11 years old girl in Jharkhand’s Simdega district has died of starvation last fortnight; which reminds us that every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger. Usually it is a child under age of 5. There is enough food for everyone but not everyone has enough food, says the “Enough Food for Everyone If Campaign”. Isn’t it thought provoking? Hunger is defined as “a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with desire to eat”. In simpler words it is defined as lack of enough food for living. As per UNICEF data, although India and China are on track to meet income target at least but in a classical example of national disparities, some 221 million people in India and 142 million people in China are still chronically or acutely malnourished. More than half of undernourished people, 60% are found in Asia and the Pacific. 30% of the infants born in south Asia in 2003 were underweight, the highest percentage in the world.
